Along with the sound of the cutting machine, the world's first 85,000m3 super-semi-cooled and semi-pressed marine C-type liquid tank was officially started in the workshop of Jiangsu Huazi Marine Engineering Co., Ltd., marking the beginning of construction of the world's largest C-type marine vessel. The liquid tank is used to support the world's first 85,000m3 super large semi-cooled half-pressure ethane and ethylene ship.
The Huazi Haigong design team uses the world's most advanced triple tank design, which enables a single tank capacity of 23,000 m3 and a steel structure weight of 1,800 tons. Compared to the traditional double tank design, this design can increase the load by 20% without changing the length and width of the ship.
On December 11, 2015, on the same day that JHW Engineering Company and Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Group Marine Engineering Co., Ltd. (Da Chuan Offshore Engineering Co., Ltd.) signed a shipbuilding contract for five 85,000 m3 super large ethane and ethylene vessels, Huazi Haigong and Dachuan Offshore Signed a liquid tank supply contract for the project, totaling 20 cargo tanks and 10 fuel tanks.
It is reported that the first two super large liquid tanks of the first ship set will be delivered in May 2017 and transported to the big ship offshore for final installation. Five 85,000m3 super large ethane and ethylene vessels will be delivered in March 2018 to transport ethane separated from US shale gas to Donghua Energy's chemical plant in China.
