According to CSSC, the standardized ship type TUNA offshore auxiliary ship program with ice breaking function and the TUNA series 8000HP icebreaking three-purpose work ship designed by Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute (SDARI) have passed basic design review and pre-assess respectively.

Recently, the standardized ship type Tuna offshore auxiliary ship program designed by SDARI for CNOOC Limited passed the basic design review meeting in Beijing. This plan is Tuna series Tuna A80 and Tuna A100ice, totaling 2 types and 10 ships.

Tuna A80 is a multi-functional guard ship that provides a variety of operations and services for offshore oil and gas exploration and mining platforms, engineering and construction facilities. The Tuna A100ice is a three-purpose work boat with an ice-breaking function for marine oil operations and development. It can sail and work at 8 knots in an ice zone with a thickness of 0.6 meters.

It is reported that these two types of ships are newly designed marine auxiliary ships. In addition to meeting the current classification society norms and international conventions, they can also meet the requirements of China National Offshore Oil Corporation for the marine oil operation guard ship. Due to the excellent technical indicators of the ship type, it has a good market prospect. The participating experts carefully and carefully reviewed the complete set of technical design drawings and documents. It is agreed that the basic design of the two types of ships is reasonable in overall layout, comfortable in construction and construction, excellent in main technical indicators, reasonable and feasible in design, and consistently recommended through basic design review.

Recently, the TUNA series 8000HP icebreaking three-purpose work boat designed by SDARI for CNOOC has also passed the pre-assessment. The ship is a three-purpose workboat with icebreaking function, which provides services for offshore oil operations and development.

The pre-assessment work is mainly carried out around the comprehensive layout of the cargo area, which includes ballast/drilling water tanks, fuel oil tanks, fresh water tanks and cement tank tanks. Since the four cement tanks are arranged in a longitudinal direction, the remaining tanks are arranged on both sides, which makes the whole cargo tank more horizontally strong, with long passages, compact equipment, many pipelines and concentrated valve parts. At the pre-assessment meeting, the shipowners and shipyards affirmed the arrangement of SDARI in properly solving the difficulties of the entire cargo hold.
