The concept of building a car is introduced into the shipbuilding production of Dalian Shipbuilding Heavy Industry

Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Group Co., Ltd. has made significant progress in the first half of this year by integrating automobile manufacturing principles into shipbuilding. The company delivered 14 vessels, surpassing its initial target, and achieved a total industrial output value of 7.86 billion yuan, reflecting a 31% increase compared to the same period last year. Additionally, the shipbuilding tonnage reached 1.236 million deadweight tons, marking a 58.7% growth year-on-year. In response to this success, the company has decided to significantly revise its production plan, signaling an accelerated pace in the second half of the year. To achieve this, Dalian Shipbuilding Heavy Industry introduced streamlined production lines, effectively transforming traditional shipbuilding processes. Five key production lines now operate in a more efficient and organized manner, reducing the overall construction cycle and optimizing resource allocation. This shift allows for specialized production of various vessel types, including refined oil tankers, large crude oil carriers, container ships, and marine engineering projects, creating a near-flow production system. In recent years, the company has expanded its operations by establishing sub-construction bases, armored parts manufacturing centers, hatch cover factories, superstructure production sites, and assembly hubs outside the main factory area. By outsourcing intermediate components and focusing on specialized production, Dalian Shipbuilding has transitioned from a closed manufacturing model to an open, assembly-based approach, further enhancing efficiency and speed. The results are evident in the shortened construction cycles. For example, the 110,000-ton oil tanker built for the Danish Tom Company completed its underwater phase in just 102 days, breaking the previous record for the same series. On June 27th, the No. 14 ship of the 35,000-ton product oil tanker was launched in 82 days, setting a new benchmark. Additionally, the No. 3 ship of the 110,000-ton crude oil vessel for China Changhang Nanjing Changjiang Oil Transportation Company was delivered 15 days ahead of schedule, with a trial period of only 5 days—setting a new fastest delivery record. This increased production speed has not only boosted capacity but also created room for new orders. In the first half of the year, Dalian Shipbuilding Heavy Industry secured 32 new contracts totaling 4.73 million tons, placing it among the top four shipyards globally in terms of order volume. With these achievements, the company is well-positioned to maintain its momentum and continue expanding its global footprint.
