The most troublesome thing is the battery life of buses. The battery is bulky, slow charging, and low storage capacity, which restricts the rapid development of new energy buses.

“For example, we have a bus in Hefei that needs to operate for 300 kilometers a day, but the current battery life for new energy electric buses is about 250 kilometers. In traffic jams, they may only run 200 kilometers, and one team needs two cars to complete. The operating cost has been greatly increased.” He suggested that we sum up the development experience from the national level, organize several key enterprises, focus on capital investment, and concentrate on superior talents for R&D. We have increased R&D efforts in traction motors and inverters for pure electric vehicles. We have developed electric equipment with low power consumption and traction, as well as power-saving and more efficient transmissions to increase battery life.

Li Xiangbin also found that Ningbo, Hangzhou, and other cities have piloted lithium batteries for fast charging. Vehicles can be quickly charged while waiting for passengers to get on and off the car. They can run for 78 kilometers. "The lithium battery fast charge mode is still in the R&D stage. It is hoped that the state can increase investment and accelerate research and development."
