Emerson's new Micro Motion F-series high-temperature flowmeter>
Emerson Process Management has launched the MicroMotion F Series high-temperature products, marking a significant expansion in its range of high-temperature Coriolis flowmeters. These new instruments are designed to meet the demands of challenging industrial environments where traditional flowmeters struggle with extreme temperatures and viscous media.
In conjunction with the highly regarded ELITE high-temperature instrumentation, the F-Series extends the size options available for high-temperature applications. It offers 316L stainless steel models from 6mm (1/4") up to 100mm (4"), as well as Hastelloy C-22 versions (excluding 4"/100mm). The electronic components of both series are positioned at the rear of the flexible tube, isolated from the heat of the sensor. This design allows for greater flexibility, enabling users to pair the flowmeter with any compatible transmitter for integrated installation.
Unlike other Coriolis meters, which rely on flow rate for accuracy, MicroMotion flowmeters equipped with MVD technology maintain consistent precision across the entire flow range. This eliminates the issue of "zero stability" and ensures reliable measurements without additional uncertainties. Thanks to an enhanced sensor design and advanced MVD technology, the F-Series delivers superior accuracy compared to other compact and self-draining Coriolis meters.
The F-Series is now available in F025, F050, and F100 configurations, made from either stainless steel or Hastelloy, and can operate at temperatures up to 350°C. Its compact and self-venting design makes it ideal for precise and efficient measurement in demanding conditions.
These high-temperature Coriolis meters are particularly well-suited for applications involving heavy oils, asphalt, polymers, waxes, and other difficult-to-control materials that require high-temperature processing. They enable operators to handle these challenging media more effectively than conventional flowmeters.
By using MicroMotion’s high-temperature Coriolis meters, users can improve productivity and repeatability when handling high-viscosity, high-temperature fluids. Additionally, the meters’ ability to withstand higher temperatures reduces the need for temperature management, increasing operational efficiency and reducing downtime.
With their robust design and reliability, these meters help lower operating and raw material costs, ultimately boosting profitability. As part of Emerson’s PlantWeb digital architecture, the F-Series enhances plant performance by improving asset optimization, process automation, and overall system efficiency. Integration with PlantWeb also leads to cost savings, increased uptime, and better safety and environmental compliance.
Emerson Process Management is a key player in the global market, supporting industries such as chemicals, oil and gas, refining, pulp and paper, power, water, food and beverage, and life sciences.
