How to extend the service life of ceramic ball mill liner

The lining plate is used to protect the cylinder and raise the steel ball to the required height at a specific speed, so that the steel ball falls down in a waterfall shape to achieve the desired honing effect. The replacement period of the liner in production is short, so this paper summarizes how to extend the service life of the ceramic ball mill liner to reduce the wear of the liner in the production and improve the working efficiency of the ball mill.

1. Control the nature of the incoming material. Control the moisture entering the ceramic ball mill to less than 2%, to avoid acid or alkaline substances in the material to generate corrosive substances under high temperature and more water, thus reducing the wear on the liner. On the other hand, after the particle size of the ball mill is reduced, the average ball diameter of the steel ball is correspondingly reduced, and the filling rate of the grinding body can also be reduced, which can reduce the wear of the lining plate and prolong its service life.

2. Control the working temperature. First, the temperature of the clinker should be controlled below 50 °C during feeding. On the other hand, it is necessary to strengthen the internal ventilation to reduce the internal temperature of the mill, reduce the degree of plastic deformation of the liner at high temperatures, and prolong the service life of the liner.

3. The feeding is uniform. When the ball mill is in normal operation, the steel ball in the equipment is mixed with the material. When the steel ball is thrown onto the lining plate and the fixed wedge, there is a material barrier between them, so that the impact force is buffered, and the uneven feeding is easy to aggravate the steel ball and The friction between the linings should ensure the uniformity of the feed during production.

4. Reduce the friction between the liner and the steel ball. The wear resistance of the lining plate increases as the hardness of the material increases, but since the steel ball and the lining plate are a pair of friction pairs, the hardness of one side is increased and the other side is accelerated. Therefore, it is necessary to correctly select the cooperation between the lining plate and the steel ball in order to minimize the wear of the lining plate while making the steel ball wear resistant.

5. Thickened linings wear faster parts. The thickness of the same lining in the ceramic ball mill is the same, but the wear is not uniform, so we can properly thicken the parts where the lining wears faster. The parts with fast wear are concentrated in a certain circle, and the thickness of the ring liner is appropriately thickened to extend the replacement period of the liner and reduce the wear of the liner.

These units are designed for self-aligning ball bearings, spherical roller bearings and CARB toroidal roller bearings. Non-split plummer block housings are preferred when there are heavy loads acting in a direction other than toward the support surface. They are also used when the housing has to be mounted from the end of the shaft.
