Uranium waste heap leaching of gold is greater than the dangers of waste heap leaching, it is not only itself radioactive, and radon release, so it requires more stringent treatment. Combined with the reality of China's uranium mining methods, we should first advocate the use of heap leaching waste as a filling in the mining process to minimize surface stockpiles. However, it is impossible for all the waste generated by heap leaching to return to the underground. Generally, about one-third of the waste residue has to be stored on the surface. In addition to the requirements of the gold mine heap leaching slag yard, there are some more stringent safety requirements and monitoring measures.

First, the waste residue must be kept neutral or slightly alkaline to ensure that the pH of the discharge water in the dump site is between 6 and 8. For this reason, at the end of the leaching, the heap should be completely removed when the heap is washed with lime milk (water). Residual acidic substances, in addition, a certain amount of lime powder should be applied to each layer when the waste residue is stored.

Secondly, the waste slag covers the thickness of the vegetation, not only to meet the requirements of plant growth, but also to consider the release of cockroaches and the safety regulations for external exposure of the slag itself. According to the activity of the waste residue and the release amount of the sputum, the cover thickness is generally 0.5 to 2.0 m.

Third, the amount of sediment generated during the neutralization process of the acid uranium heap leaching wastewater is large, and the particle size is small and easy to be lost. Therefore, this part of the sediment should not be piled up in the lower part of the tailings field. Whether gold, uranium or copper heap leaching or waste dumps, in addition to preventing the toxic components in waste outside contamination of groundwater and surface water, they all have the possibility of collapse, this possibility constitutes a The biggest potential threat to the environment. Therefore, before the construction of the waste dump, the engineering geological and groundwater data must be complete, and seismic and meteorological data should be collected as much as possible. The stability of the waste residue should be monitored at any time during the process of stockpiling the waste residue, and the maintenance of the slope should be strengthened.

The principle and method for disposal of copper ore heap leaching residue is the same as that for uranium ore heap leaching; only the special requirements of gamma external irradiation and strontium precipitation of waste residue are not considered.
