Vertical detection technology for atmospheric pollution in terrestrial boundary layer

On the China Instrumentation Network, a significant development has taken place with the launch of the National Key Research and Development Program titled "Vertical Detection Technology for Atmospheric Pollution in the Terrestrial Boundary Layer." This initiative, led by the Institute of Atmospheric Physics under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, recently conducted an extensive atmospheric boundary layer pollution observation campaign in Wangdu County, Hebei Province. The project focuses on advanced technologies such as ground-based towers, boat-mounted platforms, and airborne observations, combined with multi-data fusion and normalization systems to monitor key meteorological elements and major pollutants within the atmospheric boundary layer. The research is spearheaded by Dr. Hu Fei, a researcher at the International Key Laboratory of Atmospheric Boundary Layer Physics and Atmospheric Chemistry, Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. A wide range of academic and research institutions are involved in this project, including Peking University, Hefei Institute of Material Science, Beijing Meteorological Institute, Zhongshan University, China Environmental Monitoring Center, and several environmental monitoring centers across Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Nanjing, among others. The observational experiment is expected to last approximately 10 days. The main platform used is a large mooring motorboat measuring 32 meters in length and 1900 cubic meters in volume. It is equipped with a variety of air pollution monitoring instruments, including sensors for sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, ozone, carbon monoxide, PM2.5, and total volatile organic compounds. Additionally, the boat carries advanced equipment like aerosol mass spectrometers, particle size spectrometers, black carbon detectors, and particulate matter counters, along with meteorological instruments that measure wind speed, direction, temperature, humidity, pressure, and three-dimensional turbulent wind and temperature fluctuations. This test also marks the debut of several independently developed technologies, such as the new ozone laser radar, nitrogen dioxide laser radar, high-altitude turbulent ultrasonic anemometer system, and a vorticity-related PM2.5 flux observation system. In the later stages of the experiment, the "soft tower" gradient observation system mounted on the motorboat aerostat will also be deployed for further data collection. According to the project leader, this field experiment aims to compare and validate different air pollution detection equipment, improve data quality control, enhance data fusion and normalization, conduct standardization research, and support the development of air pollution models. Ultimately, it will contribute significantly to the advancement of vertical detection technology for atmospheric pollution in China. The most external layer is all zinc, but successive layers are a mixture of zinc and iron, with an interior of pure steel. These multiple layers are responsible for the amazing property of the metal to withstand corrosion-inducing circumstances. Zinc also protects the steel by acting as a "sacrificial layer." If rust does take hold on the surface of Galvanized steel coil, the zinc will get corroded first. This allows the zinc that is spread over the breach or scratch to prevent rust from reaching the steel. For countless outdoor, marine, or industrial applications, Galvanized steel coil is an essential fabrication component.

The requirements of chemical composition of galvanized coil are different in different countries. The national standard is to detect the content of carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur and silicon.
