Robbins has been added to the site
The Robbins Fire Department, located within MABAS Division 22, has recently been added to our website. This department operates out of a single firehouse that houses four pumpers, a tower ladder, and a compact mini-pumper. Their fleet includes models from Darley, E-ONE, Fire-Max, and HME. Interestingly, the Darley unit previously served the Orland Fire Protection District, while the E-ONE pumper was transferred from Riverside. Additionally, they have an aerial ladder truck with a 100-foot rear-mount platform, manufactured by LTI.
Their mini-pumper, constructed by Hammerly, rides on a Ford chassis—previously owned by Libertyville, Illinois, before making its way to Robbins. As part of their emergency response efforts, the Robbins Fire Department provides basic life support (BLS) services, complementing Bud’s Ambulance Service, which handles advanced life support (ALS) for the community.
The main fire station, located at 3327 W. 137th Street, features striking Chicago-style red doors adorned with unit-specific markings. A recent photograph captures this station in all its glory, highlighting the pride and professionalism of the department. Another image showcases Engine 2923, a former Riverside apparatus that now proudly serves Robbins. Meanwhile, another photo displays Engine 2913, originally built for the Orland Fire Protection District as part of an order that also included two other pumpers, a Snorkel aerial, and another tower ladder.
These vehicles reflect the department's commitment to maintaining a diverse fleet, ensuring readiness for any emergency scenario. It’s clear that Robbins Fire Department takes great care in preserving both its equipment and its community ties, providing reliable service to residents across the area.
