Forest View working fire 12/2/13
"Here's a report from Josh Boyajian:
Forest View was in chaos on Monday when a couple of semi-trucks caught fire near 5200 W 47th St. I was heading out from my house when I spotted the smoke coming from the area around 39th and Lombard. The first photo was taken with my phone while I was crossing the Central Bridge on my way to the scene.
I managed to capture a few shots of the burning trailers, which were still smoldering when I arrived. It was pretty intense — flames were shooting up high, and the air smelled strongly of smoke. People were gathered at a safe distance, watching in shock.
These are some of the images I took at the scene. If you're nearby, stay alert and keep your distance from the area. Fire crews were on the scene for several hours, working to contain the blaze.
