CPChem to build world-class 1-hexene plant

Chechem Phillips Chemical Company (CPChem) recently planned to build a new 200,000-ton/year 1-hexene plant in the Cedar Bayou plant in Bay City, Texas. The device is expected to be completed and put into production in the first quarter of 2014. The device will meet the worldwide demand of polyethylene producers for the growth of 1-hexene comonomer.
CPChem said that this world-class 1-hexene plant will benefit from some of the company's regional strengths, including infrastructure, raw materials, and operational experience.
