China's mold industry needs to identify weaknesses to enhance the competitiveness of mold

In recent years, China's mold industry has developed rapidly, but it is far from meeting the needs of the national economy. Luo Baihui, head of the Die & Mould Network CEO and International Die & Plastics Suppliers Association, believes that China's domestic mold companies must identify their own weaknesses in order to enhance the competitiveness of our molds in the international market. In general, there are five major differences between the Chinese mold industry and foreign counterparts:

1, raw material issues. Due to price restrictions, domestic molds use 2Cr13 and 3Cr13 for precision heat treatment, while foreign countries use special mold materials DINI, 2316, its comprehensive mechanical properties, wear resistance, corrosion resistance and polishing brightness are significantly better than domestic materials. This fundamentally affected the appearance quality and service life of domestic molds.

2, the level of manufacturing technology. Domestic mold manufacturers, process conditions vary, a great gap. Many manufacturers rely on manual work due to equipment not supporting a lot of work, which seriously affects the accuracy and quality.

3, mold design system. Although some domestic manufacturers have also adopted computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), they still remain at the stage of introduction, digestion and absorption, and it is difficult to form a mature theoretical guidance and design system. Therefore, the development of standardized mold design software systems is a top priority.

4, the level of debugging. The mold belongs to the tooling in its essence, and producing a qualified product is the ultimate goal. Therefore, the quality and performance of the mold depend on the test results. Due to the short delivery time and limited tryout equipment, the domestic mold factory often puts the quality inspection work at the user's tryout, which is easy to cause a lot of losses and waste to the user. Moreover, due to time constraints and site constraints, it is often difficult to debug the best conditions. While some well-developed foreign companies have their own test sites and equipment, they can simulate the user's working conditions, so they can achieve good results in the shortest time frame.

5, supporting system. China's mold manufacturing companies are accustomed to burying their heads in production and scientific research, while ignoring cooperation with other equipment suppliers and raw material suppliers. Virtually make the user go a lot of detours.
