The night cruise of sand vessels below 600 tons in the section of the Yangtze River

A few days ago, the Yangtze River Maritime Affairs Bureau promulgated the Interim Provisions for the Safety Management of Ship Navigation on the Ship from the Beach to the Boundary of the Upper Yangtze River, and made provisions for the captain, draught, speed, gross tonnage, and cargo volume of ships sailing in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. To further regulate and guide the sailing behavior of the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, improve navigation efficiency, and ensure navigation safety.

According to the introduction of Wang Jujun, director of the Yangtze River Maritime Affairs Bureau, the provisions apply to ships, floating facilities, owners, and operators sailing in the waters from the beaches in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River to the coast of Shipan. The regulations require that gravel-transport vessels below 600 gross tons can not sail at night on the above-mentioned segments. Ships with a total length of 130 meters or more are prohibited from sailing on the waters above the Shibanpo Yangtze River Bridge in Chongqing.
