Quantum computers solve some types of problems faster than traditional computers, but so far most quantum computers can perform limited tasks and are difficult to reconfigure. These qubits are stored in five ion traps, can be operated by laser, and can be reconfigured without changing the hardware. Researchers report that the system can perform basic operations with an accuracy of about 98%.
