Some of the imported BMW X5 vehicles from 2000 to 2003 during the period from October 18, 2000 to January 27, 2003, totaled 183 vehicles.
Some of the vehicles in the scope of this recall are equipped with the driver's position. The front airbag is not defective, but it is possible to install the ammonium nitrate gas generator without the desiccant produced by Takada during the after-sales maintenance. When the airbag is deployed, the metal casing of the gas generator may be damaged, causing debris to fly out, injuring the inside of the vehicle, posing a safety hazard.
BMW (China) Automobile Trading Co., Ltd. will inspect the vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge. If the vehicle is found to be equipped with defective airbags, it will be replaced free of charge to eliminate the defects.
