Stone Park Fire Department photo history

Stone Park Fire Department photo history

Another photo history gallery has been added to the site, featuring the Stone Park Fire Department from MABAS Division 20. You can view their rich collection of historical apparatus dating back to 1954, including a variety of Darley and E-ONE units, as well as a classic custom Pirsch fire truck. The gallery is available [HERE]. One of their current engines was an emergency purchase in 2004 after a 2002 HME/Darley engine was destroyed in a tragic traffic collision. The accident occurred on April 27, 2004, when the Stone Park engine collided with a Northlake engine while both were responding to an emergency call. Tragically, Jeffrey Bergstrom, a part-time firefighter for Stone Park, lost his life in the crash. He was also a paramedic with Ambulance Company 44 of the Chicago Fire Department. The Illinois Fire Service Institute Firefighter Record provides a detailed summary of the incident, including photographs from the scene. According to the report: "In addition to serving as a part-time firefighter and paramedic for the Stone Park Fire Department, Bergstrom was also a paramedic for Ambulance Company 44 of the Chicago Fire Department. Firefighters and paramedics from both departments joined firefighters from across the country in honoring Bergstrom during a funeral procession through several Chicago suburbs and at a memorial service in Hillside, Illinois." A photo of the damaged 2002 HME/Darley engine, which was destroyed in the accident, is available below.

High-temperature Resistant Powder Coating

High-temperature powder coating is a type of powder coating specially designed to withstand high-temperature environments. This coating possesses characteristics that allow it to maintain stability and performance at elevated temperatures.

High-temperature powder coating possesses the following characteristics and advantages:
  • High-temperature stability: It maintains a stable coating structure and performance even at elevated temperatures, minimizing deformation, fading, or loss of gloss.
  • Excellent heat resistance: It can withstand extreme high-temperature environments, typically maintaining stability at temperatures above 1000°C, and is resistant to cracking or peeling.
  • Corrosion resistance: It exhibits good resistance to corrosion, capable of withstanding oxidation, chemical attacks, and corrosion at high temperatures.
  • Environmental friendliness: It typically does not contain organic solvents or harmful substances, aligning with environmental regulations and requirements.
  • Outstanding abrasion resistance: It demonstrates excellent resistance to wear and tear, ensuring long-term integrity and surface quality of the coating.
  • Excellent fire resistance: It exhibits outstanding resistance to fire, capable of withstanding flames, high-temperature radiation, and erosion in fire environments.
It is typically used in applications that require resistance to high temperatures, such as engine components, furnaces, BBQ grills, heaters, pipelines, heat exchangers, exhaust pipes, and more.
